3 tips for sounding like a native speaker





This video explains three tips for sounding like a native speaker.

On the one hand the first tip shows that you can connect consonants to consonants, in other words when a word ends in a consonant and the next word begins with the same consonant, drop the first one. Another thing is when a word ends in a consonant and the next word begins in a vowel, blend the letters one into the next.

On the other hand another thing we see is squeeze some words. For example instead of "every", native speakers says "E-vry".

Finally, the last tip shows: squeeze letters. For example when we have "tr", together sounds like "chr" so we don't say: "country", we say "cun-chry".

The native speakers speak very quick and very mixed, and we have to practice and try to cut the words we hear into the actual separate words that they are.

It is unethical that some sportsmen earn so much money

Nowadays many people think that the salaries of some sportsman are unethical and in my opinion I it is true.

In the first place I think that professional athletes make sport their job, so it is logical that the salary increase s according to their level. In other words If you're really good, you will earn more. It’s also necessary being to consider that there are many different sports. For example, it’s not the same a football player than an artistic roller skating because football is a sport that has a lot of demand.

Nevertheless, I think it’s unfair that there are so high salaries. Because for one to be rich, there are many poor people.

In conclusion, I disagree with the fact that some sportsmen earn so much money, because I think it’s too much. The salaries should be controlled. But it is a reality.

Official language school Banyoles celebrates it's 10th birthday

Last Thursday, 8th October at 6:00 pm., the Official Language School (OLS) celebrated its 10th birthday in the Auditorium L’Ateneu.

They organized an interesting speech with important people. Annie Gili, Principal of the school, talked about the school success. She did a positive evaluation of the school and said:”We ran the risk but now the school is filled up.”

During the speech, Miquel Noguer, mayor of the town, congratulated the school and encouraged them for all the work that they had done for the school.

Another participant on the speech was Sebastià Serrano, linguist and communication expert and professor “UB (Barcelona University) who did a speech about “communications in the third millennium”.

This school inaugurated in September 2005 and its a public school which teach English and French. There are six teachers, four English teachers and two French teachers. This school is situated in 155 Llibertat street, in Banyoles and there are 400 students right now.

When you come here, we could go to the lake by bicycle and swim. Every day at the morning we could go running to Puig Clarà, around the lake or Sant Patllari. Another day we can go to Girona by bus and go to the cinema in Espai Gironès, a big shopping centre. While we are there, we can go shopping and we can go dinner in Köning, where they cook delicious food! After that or another day, we can go bowling with my friends.
